The pianist and Boydell Press author, Susan Tomes, has been awarded the 2013 Cobbett Medal 'for distinguished services to chamber music'. Past recipients of the Cobbett Medal include Elgar, Vaughan Williams, Pablo Casals and Yehudi Menuhin. She has recorded over fifty CDs and won international awards such as Gramophone Awards, Diapasons d’Or in France, and Deutsche Schallplattenpreise. Two of her books, Beyond the Notes and Out of Silence, are published by the Boydell Press. Join us in congratulating Susan Tomes on this recognition of her many-faceted contribution to chamber music.
