Methods of Payment
All cheques are to be in British pounds sterling drawn on a UK bank and made payable to Boydell and Brewer Ltd. and to be sent with your order.
We can accept Mastercard, Visa or Switch cards. Please supply your card number, security code and expiry date. For overseas customers your account will be debited in the local currency equivalent to the invoice amount. This is the simplest method of making international payments. Please note that we also need a start date and an issue number for Switch cards as well.
We regret the following methods of payment are not acceptable to UK banks:
- International Money Orders, drawn on a Post Office
- Cheques drawn on a bank outside the UK
- Cheques drawn in a foreign currency
Post and Packing
- UK - £3.00 per book (may vary on special offers & mailings through societies)
- Europe - £7.50 per book to maximum of £30
- Rest of World - £13.50 per book with no maximum, Post Office weight restrictions apply with Airmail. This service can not be used if ordering very heavy volumes, please contact us directly for further information
Please note that additional postage may be charged if ordering Victoria County History titles or sets of books (eg. Collected Letters Peter Warlock, Journals of Captain Cook). Please contact us for details.
The following delivery times should be allowed:
UK - 4-7 days from receipt of your order
Europe - 7-10 days via Airmail
Rest of World - 2-3 weeks via Airmail
Urgent Orders (UK Only)
Special arrangements can be made to use an express service (at an extra cost). Please contact us for details.
Returns Policy
If you are not happy with the goods you receive from us, you are entitled to return them, provided you notify us within seven days of receipt. Please contact us if you wish to return goods, clearly stating the reason for return.

Author Terms and Conditions
As one of our authors, you are entitled to 35% discount on any books that we publish or distribute. This discount will be calculated on your receipt at the end of the ordering process. If you are ordering 10 copies or more of your own book, you are entitled to higher rates of discount. To take advantage of this, please contact us separately, as our online ordering system does not apply these individual discounts.
